HydraFacial Contraindications
You cannot receive HydraFacial if you have any of the following contraindications:
Active sunburn
Active cancer
Active rash, cold sore/fever blisters
Severe form of acne, open lesions
Inflammation of the skin on the face
Eczema/Psoriasis
Botox within 2 weeks
Fillers within 2 weeks
Laser treatment within 3-4 weeks or until the swelling has gone down
Use of Isotretinoin products such as Accutane for at least one year
Allergic to vitamin C, or product ingredients
Shellfish/Aspirin/Sulfur allergy
Nursing
Pregnant
Discuss any of the following with your Esthetician:
Autoimmune disorder or communicable disease (Lupus/Scleroderma)
Infection in urinary system
Taking anticoagulants
Taking fish oil
Use of retinol
Topical steroids
Antibiotics
Epilepsy
Rashes or lesion
Prior to HydraFacial treatment:
Refrain from any type of exfoliating treatments to the area of treatment for 48 hours.
Refrain from Retin-A/AHA's/Peels (stop use 5+ days prior)
Refrain from any medium to deep chemical resurfacing and laser treatments for one
month.
Refrain from waxing and use of depilatories for 48 hours.
Discontinue use of over the counter acne medications (Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic…) for
48 hours.
If you are prone to cold sores, HydraFacial may cause a break out; you may need a
prescription for prophylactic treatment such as Val acyclovir. Please use medication 2
days before, during, and 2 days after.
Avoid sun tanning or tanning creams/sprays for at least 72 hours.
For Gentlemen’s HydraFacial treatment, shaving is not recommended on the day of
treatment. If you choose to shave, please shave at least 3-4 hours prior to your treatment.
